October 9th - Free Flu Shot

Roll down your window, roll up your sleeve.

That’s how easy it is to get protected from the flu this fall and winter, thanks to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department. Free flu shots will be given 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Imani Family Life Center, 1555 Georgetown Road. This will be a drive-thru event, meaning those who want to fight the flu won’t even have to leave the comforts of their car.

We're hiring - Community Developer/Food Sourcer

The Community Developer/Food Sourcer is a dual role position with 50% focus on community development for the purpose of increasing food distribution within designated underserved counties and 50% to sourcing food from retail stores and food producers throughout God’s Pantry Food Bank’s 50 county service area. A bachelor’s degree required. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the demonstrated ability to bring people with different interests together to solve a mutual or community issue. Salary Range: $36,000 - $40,000.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Partners with God’s Pantry Food Bank to Support Hunger Action Month

While the set-up spectacle of the Greatest Show on Earth is going on inside Rupp Arena this week the pachyderm stars from Ringling Bros. will help host “Eat Like An Elephant” Brunch to kick-off Hunger Awareness Month. “An average Asian elephant can eat up to 300 lbs. of food in a day.
